What is Wood Badge?

Wood Badge, in the United States of America, is the highest level of adult Scout leader training available. It was first presented in England by the founder of Scouting, Baden Powell, and he introduced the program into the United States during a visit in 1936.

I really enjoyed Wood Badge. It taught me a lot of things that I can use both in scouting and my everyday life.

Leaving a Legacy! I found Wood Badge to be one of the best training for Scouts and my profession there is. Completing the ticket process not only helped my unit but also proved to me that you can make a difference if you just take the first step.

I was lucky to be put in a very diverse patrol made up of people with very different backgrounds, both within and outside of Scouting. To me, one of the best things about Wood Badge is coming to the realization that none of us have a lock on doing things exactly right. There are lots of people who can teach you something, and Wood Badge is a terrific way to meet these fellow travelers. The quality of the people involved is really terrific, both the staff and the student body. Highly recommend the course!

I enjoyed every minute of the Wood Badge Experience.
After leaving Gilwell Field I also had work to do.
Unfortunately, I do not have the electronic copies to share.

Completed tickets that stand out in my memory include organizing
and equipping patrol boxes to support patrol method, developing a
Troop to Troop mentoring program for Scoutreach Units in our District,
completing Venture Adviser Training to support Eagle an Scout Patrol
at Troop 15.

If you are considering Wood Badge, I give it a solid 2 thumbs up.
